The 2018 Vascular Research Summit was held on February 26 in Redwood Shores, CA. This invitation-only event brought together cross-functional stakeholders and thought leaders from leading vascular care and research organizations across North America to discuss the most critical problems facing the field today. The summit enabled open and confidential conversation around topics that included patient-centered innovation, clinical trends, value-based therapies and health economics, across multiple vascular diseases.
This event also marked the second year of our Collaborative Patient-Centered (CPCR) grants program. As such, a primary outcome was to identify high priority areas of unmet scientific need, suitable for innovative pilot projects (1-2 year duration) that could have a rapid impact on the field of vascular medicine/surgery. Awardees will receive milestone-based funding, and we are most interested in high-impact translational projects with direct relevance to human health.
Meaningful collaboration requires a trusted catalyst with the expertise and leadership to convene the innovators who can drive change. Our overall goal is to serve as a unique catalyst for innovative science to improve the care of current and future vascular patients.
